Today was a frustrating day for Martha! We arrived at St. Vincent just after 7am for the CT scan she originally had scheduled Friday. They got her right back to radiology, but after four attempts they decided her veins weren't flexible enough for the large needle. They asked Dr. Krisht's partner, who ordered a temporary central line (IV into an artery near her heart) put in. We waited and waited for the "angio" department to get her for the central line. Then once that finally happened, she was sent over to wait for her CT scan. Unfortunately two emergency cases slipped in before her, so she finally got in to the scan a bit before 3:30, and then back to recovery for them to remove the central line, and discharge to Conway by about 4:30 pm. And she had never eaten breakfast! The folks in recovery had ordered her a sandwich around noon, but between all the waiting rooms she never had a chance to eat it. She finally ate the sandwich when she returned to Salem, just after dinner time.

I hope they can come up with a less frustrating process if Martha needs to have another CT done. Maybe at the very least she can have the scan in Conway.

Amanda had an OK weekend and a pretty good day today. Being outside, Pranayama breathing, and gentle exercise have all been helpful. She is still having some negative side-effects from the medicine, so she hopes maybe she and her doctor can come up with something less troublesome when she sees her later this week.
